Welcome to Edwards Colorado!

Have you ever been to Edwards, Colorado? Before last week I hadn’t, but I wish I had made a trip that way sooner! I was graciously hosted by The Inn at Riverwalk for a wonderful weekend escape, and now it is my turn to show you everything this region has to offer!

Where to Stay: Edwards is a great town because it is situated right in Vail Valley which puts you close to several major ski resorts, right off I-70 and would be a perfect place to stop on the way to Grand Junction or Utah! The best part? It comes with a small town feel and less traffic than its more well known counterparts.

The Inn at Riverwalk is the ideal place to stay in Edwards! The hotel offers both traditional hotel rooms and condo options and the resort fee comes with an incredible array of amenities. Breakfast, an afternoon treat, 24/7 coffee bar, free parking, pool/hot tub, firepit, gear rental, discounts to local businesses, credit to their onsite sundry shop, and more are included!

And of course, they are pet friendly, complete with treats for your furry friend! The Inn at Riverwalk sits amidst downtown Edwards and backs up to Eagle River. There is a walking path that connects Edwards and Avon that runs right parallel to the river and is a beautiful way to spend an afternoon. Grab a bike from the gear garage and have a blast exploring along the river path!

Things to Do:

Explore Downtown Edwards: Downtown Edwards is so charming! There is a movie theatre and several blocks of restaurants and shops to explore. Here are a couple of my favorites:

Eat at Main Street Grill: Their patio is a perfect place to enjoy dinner, and because you stayed at The Inn at Riverwalk, you get a discount!

Craftsman Brewery: The ideal pet friendly place to grab a brew and some delicious happy hour apps. And this place’s happy hour still happens over the weekends! There were tons of pups sitting at the tables on their patio!

Riverwalk Theatre: What is more nostalgic than a movie theatre? Nothing! And they have happy hour eats and drinks here too!

Sundae Ice Cream makes for the perfect dessert stop to satisfy that sweet tooth!

We heard wonderful things about The Drunken Goat and Mountain Fish House, but didn’t get the chance to visit either! Next time!!

Hike: You know I take every opportunity to hit the trails, and there are so many hikes in this area!

Closest to Edwards: Berry Creek Loop: 2.5 mile loop with 554 foot elevation gain, this one is also popular with bikers so remember to yield appropriately.

Best Wildflowers and View: Shrine Ridge Trail: 4.3 mile out and back trail with 1030 foot elevation gain, this one has views along the whole trail! And during July and early August the wildflowers are incredible.

Moderate Challenge: Booth Falls: 3.9 miles out and back, with 1315 foot elevation gain this one involves some rock scrambling to the falls but looks incredible!

An absolute classic: Mayflower Gulch: This one is about an hour from Edwards but is one of my all time favorites any time of year!

Visit a nearby town: Several towns are within an hour of Edwards, so it serves as the perfect homebase to explore somewhere new! I love that it is a quieter place to stay and relax but you can still explore the busier towns. Vail is a very short drive, so head over to ski or wander Vail Village, or even drive over to Leadville! You all know Leadville is one of my favorite towns in Colorado, and it sits just under an hour from Edwards making it a perfect way to spend a day! Click here for my complete guide to Leadville.

This is just the start of things to do in and around Edwards! You can raft, fish, paddleboard, horseback ride, play golf, dog sled ride, snowmobile and more! Click here for more information on everything that makes this region so special.

And if you haven’t seen it yet, don’t forget to enter the giveaway on my Instagram page to win a stay at The Inn at Riverwalk! Even if you don’t win, I highly recommend checking out this charming hotel and town. It is a perfect weekend escape. Click here to book your room.
