Ski In to Fun with Lion Square Lodge

Looking for the best place to ski in the winter and adventure in the summer? Look no further than Vail, Colorado! And one of my new favorite places to stay? Lion Square Lodge!

This ski in, ski out lodge sits right in Lionshead Village. It is steps from the gondola and the main square of the village, so it offers something for everyone! If you ski, you cannot beat this place! The ski valet stores your equipment as needed and greets you with cookies and hot chocolate when you return from the slopes. They have an onsite restaurant called El Sabor you can ski in to as well, with indoor and outdoor seating to enjoy an après ski!

I have not skied since high school, but even I couldn't pass up the opportunity to hit the slopes with the access Lion Square Lodge offers! And I somehow made it down the slopes in one piece!

If you don’t ski, there is so much to do right in Lionshead Village! Try ice skating, check out some local shops and restaurants, or wander along the river. Lion Square Lodge features a riverside pool, multiple hot tubs, a gym, sauna, and you can rent ski equipment at their onsite Charter Sports store (and you get a discount when you stay here!). You will definitely never be bored.

When you are ready to explore Vail for the evening, use your private shuttle service to take you anywhere you want to go! I highly recommend a night over in Vail Village exploring! We loved Chasing Rabbits, which is home to an arcade bar and my new favorite speakeasy called Moon Rabbit. We also loved dinner and the cozy vibes at Bully Ranch! Try their nachos, you won’t regret it!

Vail Village is also where you can find the viral fireside hot chocolate. For the details about that, check out my Instagram page soon!

When you are ready to return home for the night, simply call your shuttle! They will pick you up from anywhere in Vail and return you right to the front door of Lion Square Lodge. This was such a huge perk of staying here. Then you can enjoy the night by the fire or a star gazing hot tub soak before you get to wake up and have more adventures!

I stayed in the winter, but I have seen Vail in every season now, and I love it year round. Hikes like Shrine Ridge, amazing fall foliage, and wildflowers galore in the summer mean that you can visit any time and still have a great experience. Go check out Lion Square Lodge and book your room today to get you one step closer to your Vail Adventure! For the specific unit we stayed at, click here.
